Open houses will offer fun, educational and family-oriented activities, allowing residents to learn about the importance of having a working smoke alarm in every bedroom of their home. The open houses also give families and businesses the chance to meet their local firefighters and tour the station that serves their homes and property.
Children of all ages are invited to hang out with firefighters and meet Sparky the Fire Dog. They will also be able to explore a fire engine and aid car. A very popular station allows children to put on fire gear, just like the firefighters and they get to take a red hat home. Families and local businesses are also encouraged to tour the station and enjoy light refreshments.
